Community-led storytelling to preserve local knowledge
Partners: Digital Empowerment Foundation, Himalayan Ark
Location: India
In collaboration with the Digital Empowerment Foundation and Himalayan Ark, Climate Conscious Travel developed India’s first community storytelling platform - Voices of Rural India. We work with storytellers from tourism-dependent rural communities on the art of digital storytelling, and empower them to share stories of climate change, sustainability, natural heritage and cultural traditions, in their own voices.
Self paced courses for purpose-driven storytellers
Partners: The Shooting Star Academy, Kiwano
Location: Global
In collaboration with The Shooting Star Academy, Climate Conscious Travel developed in-depth courses for aspiring travel storytellers, sharing long term success strategies to get paid to travel - and have a positive impact on the world in the process. For Kiwano, Climate Conscious Travel developed a module a community tourism for travel businesses, including accommodations and tour operators.

As visiting faculty at Deer Park Institute, a Buddhist monastery turned learning centre, Shivya Nath, the founder of Climate Conscious Travel, offers donation-based travel writing and storytelling workshops - accessible to budding travel writers and storytellers from all backgrounds.

Location: Peru and India
Climate Conscious Travel partnered with social enterprises across Peru and India to create a series of short documentaries based on community tourism, Indigenous-led businesses, women empowerment initiatives and grassroots climate action. These documentaries have been awarded and screened at 18 international film festivals so far, including those in Cambodia, Brazil, Turkey and India. The docufilm on the first women-led trek in the Tirthan Valley became an award-winner at the Inspire Global Media Awards (London, 2025).

Climate Conscious Travel has partnered with boutique digital marketing agency, iambassador, to build Sustainable Cities, a global platform that invites travellers to (re)discover their favorite cities around the world, through a conscious lens. The platform aims to bridge the gap between intention and action, by conscious choices more accessible to travellers.
